The Charleston DPS has made a second arrest in the home invasion/shooting that took place at 1225 Oak Street on 07/28/2012.  At about 7:00pm on 08/03/2012, officers arrested Eric Lawrence, 24 of Charleston on charges of Robbery, Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail on a $750,000 cash only bond. The MO State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.      After a joint investigation by the Charleston Department of Public Safety and the MO State Highway Patrol into last nights home invasion at 1225 Oak Street, George Johnson, 23 of Charleston has been arrested and charged with:

 

Assault 1st Degree
Burglary 1st Degree
Armed Criminal Action
Unlawful Use of a Weapon

 

Johnson is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail on a $750,000 cash only bond. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible. Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to contact the Charleston DPS at (573) 683-3737.

     On July 28th at about 11:00pm, officers were dispatched to 1225 Oak Street in Charleston for a reported home invasion. The investigation revealed that several suspects forced their way into the residence. The suspects assaulted one person in the residence, and shot another person several times.  Several other people in the residence, including a child, were not injured.  Robbery is believed to be the motive for this crime. The MO State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to contact the Charleston DPS at (573) 683-3737.
