News Media,

On August 12th at about 11:00pm, our agency received a report of people shot at 208 Morgan Street in Charleston.  Responding officers found two gunshot victims inside the residence. Both victims are in critical condition and have been transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.  The victims have been identified as:

The initial investigation indicates the suspect(s) walked around the residence firing multiple rounds into the residence through the door and windows.  Both victims were struck inside.  Bullets also traveled into the residence at 210 Morgan Street. The residence was occupied by a female and her two year old daughter. No one was injured in that residence.

The Charleston DPS is being assisted in the investigation by the MO State Highway Patrol.  There are no suspects in custody, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Charleston DPS at (573) 683-3737.

A reinstatement of a curfew is being considered by the City Council if more acts of violence occur.
